Community

We reckon that big environmental threats are best tackled through a gigantic team effort and so believe that we need to build really strong communities that not only have the knowledge, skills and belief to make positive changes but that are also inclusive and recognise that absolutely everyone has something to contribute.

To help develop these communities we try really hard to:

  • Give an example of how to be inclusive through throwing our doors open and welcoming people of all backgrounds and experience to take part in our projects and programmes.
  • Offer training and volunteering opportunities that help people back into work, through difficult circumstances.
  • Give jobs to local people.
  • Reinvest our profits to develop more projects to benefit local people, sharing the love!
  • Increase awareness of environmental issues in our communities.
  • Support disadvantaged families through providing advice and support, affordable reused products and access to sustainable lifestyles.  Living Green, really doesn’t need to cost the earth!
  • Work with communities and partners to create sustainable social enterprises that promote using our natural resources efficiently.  Social Enterprise is the business model for the future!
  • Take a partnership approach, working on those age old principles of “Great minds…” and “Two heads are better…” we want to work wherever possible with experienced partners to help us achieve our aims.
