The Bike Hub

Working closely with Cornwall College, the Bike Hub offers local people the chance to gain accredited bike maintenance qualifications alongside the opportunity to develop the practical skills needed to get employment in an industry that services the country’s second fastest growing sport!

Bike Hub recruits are offered the chance to join us in our rooftop workshop and hang out space to help us recondition bikes that were otherwise destined for landfill.   The reconditioned bikes will then be sold to the local community at affordable prices through our retail outlet RE:SOURCE.  The Bike Hub will aslo be developing additional community services such as bike maintenance courses, servicing, bike construction and more.

We will be encouraging our Bike Hub recruits to think about the health, social and environmental aspects of cycling as well as helping them to use a hobby to build a career.  The recruits will learn about cycle maintenance and mechanics but will also be able to learn cycling skills and enjoy group rides in the local area.  Through ReZolve’s other projects our recruits will get be able to get a taster for other related jobs such as retail, marketing, administration and warehousing.

The Bike Hub is currently located on an enclosed mezzanine at our RE:STORE site in Bodmin but we have hopes to develop further sites as a second phase of the project.

The Bike Hub is managed by our Bike Guru Shane Arthur a self confessed bike nut and qualified cycle engineer.  Shane has over ten years experience in the Forces as a PT Instructor and has also run successful sports programmes across the country.  Shane is always looking for ways in which to further develop the Bike Hub and so is keen to hear from local companies, industry experts, youth leaders, public bodies, enthusiastic cyclists or just interested people!
