23/07/10- RE:Store Opens!

Lance Kennedy, Cornwall Council's Cabinet member for Community Safety and Neighbourhoods officially opened the new office in the RE:STORE building in Lucknow Road, Bodmin at 12.30 pm on Friday, 23 July. Representatives from all the partner agencies were at the ceremony to view the project, talk to staff and see displays.

09/07/10- Environmental Skills Programme to Boost "New" Economy

The environmental sector is one of the strongest economic drivers for businesses in the South West and now a unique project, Strengthening the Environment Sector (SES), aims to equip companies and public sector agencies with the skills to compete effectively in this new ‘low carbon economy’.

Supported by the European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency, SES offers five programmes delivered through a partnership of regional organisations led by Cornwall College Business including Rezolve, Environmental Skills Network, Global Action Plan, Business Link for Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly, Devon and Somerset and the Cornwall Development Company.

09/07/10- Bright Green

On Wednesday 30th June at the University of Exeter’s Cornwall Campus in Tremough, Falmouth, over 120 young people from Cornish schools took part in an exciting day of hands-on activities aimed at inspiring and informing year 10 students on the growing number of ‘green’ career opportunities that exist locally.

30/06/10- Young People from Cornish Schools are Encouraged to Consider “Green Careers”

An exciting day of ‘hands on’ activities aimed at inspiring young people about the potential of green careers has been planned for teams of young people from Cornish Schools at the end of June.

The Environmental Skills Network and Cornwall Learning Education Business Partnership are working together to deliver the event entitled: Bright Green. 

The day will introduce year 10 students, who are enthusiastic and skilled at STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects, to the growing number of ‘green’ opportunities that exist locally.

06/06/10- RE:Source Donates Garden Furniture

RE:Source has donated two picnic benches made from recycled materials to the Lanhydrock Allotments and Community Garden Association. The benches have been made by volunteers at ReSource and were handed over on 6th July at the allotments, the allotments are on the grounds of the National Trust

21/05/10- ReZolve Receives Double Whammy!

ReZolve has been awarded the Social Enterprise Mark, identifying them as a company trading solely for social and environmental purposes and proving that they have made the giant leap from grant dependency.

This comes in the same week as a Business Link Carbon Footprint report declared ReZolve “well beyond carbon neutral”.

30/01/09- Wombles Give Reuse Customers Chance to Win Celebrity Goodies!

Three reuse centres in Cornwall are coming together to help raise the profile of furniture reuse in the county, with a little help from the Wombles!

RE:SOURCE in Bodmin, GOFA Penzance and SOFA Camborne will all be taking part in the first ever Big Womble event next month.

The Big Womble is a national awareness and fundraising campaign run by the Furniture Reuse Network (FRN) that will take place throughout the week commencing 16th Feb 2009.

09/01/09- Acclaimed Training Manager helps New Provider Achieve Excellence

A local Training Manager, who was shortlisted for a National Award is helping a new training provider get off to an impressive start. 

James Browning was recently shortlisted for a national Learning and Skills Improvement Service Star Award for his work supporting adult learning in Cornwall and is now using his expertise to help develop a unique training provider: ReZolve Skills.

28/11/08- Starting Out Wins People's Millions!

Cornish project Starting Out has been awarded £50,000 to help Cornwall's homeless, following a public phone vote on the 26th November 2008.

The project will be run by a partnership of three established Cornish reuse centres and will provide furniture starter packs to help homeless people move into accommodation.

10/11/08 - Protest Highlights Plight of Cornwall's Homeless

A noisy demonstration staged by a local community group caused major disruption to filming for ITV’s People’s Millions project, Starting Out.

ITV, who were collecting footage to encourage support for the Starting Out project which hopes to tackle homelessness, were interrupted by a protest by another local group also working for the benefit of the homeless.

29/10/08 - Reuse Centres Need Help to Support Homeless

Three furniture and appliance reuse centres have been selected to take part in the 2008 People’s Millions.

The program, run by the Big Lottery and ITV, awards up to £50,000 to selected projects based on a public phone vote following coverage of the project on ITV Westcountry News.

Reuse Centres RE:SOURCE, SOFA and GOFA, have joined forces to promote their project Starting Out;  an initiative which will help homeless people in Cornwall by providing much needed furniture starter packs...

The Cornish Real Nappy Project are giving parents the chance to try washable nappies for free during Zero Waste week.

CRNP are supporting the week long challenge by asking parents to sign up for a free real nappy trial, allowing them to try out washable nappies in their own home and on their baby, before spending any money on purchasing washables.
