ENVIRONMENTAL SKILLS NETWORK
About
Environmental Skills Network (ESN) is a new network providing support to existing and emerging environmental sector companies; from consultants to plumbers, recycling companies to electricians.
As one of thirteen sector organisations in Cornwall we are in receipt of European funding, known as convergence. ESN will use the convergence money to help environmental sector businesses access appropriate training opportunities. This money is intended to help our Cornish economy through developing skills in our workforce.
Background
Environmental Skills Network is a newly created sector body, incorporated as a not-for-profit limited company and owned by the members, for the benefit of the members.
ESN has been set up by ReZolve Kernow and Community Energy Plus to deliver training and support on behalf of Environment Kernow, a partnership devoted to sustaining Cornwall and The Scilly Isles’ environment.
Key Services
Free/Subsidised Training: ESN helps businesses fund and access any training they require. Training could be completely funded or part-funded by ESN, or through established providers such as Train to Gain: www.traintogain.gov.uk. ESN can also access bespoke training tailored to meet the specific needs of employees and businesses.
Online Network: An online presence and meeting place for the sector. A chance to meet and message other businesses, learn from best practice, download resources, access research and much more.
Support and Advice: ESN will provide access to a large knowledge base and wide skills set, giving us the ability to offer relevant, expert advice to all levels of business.
Access to Other Businesses: Through our network of environmental-sector businesses, we offer the opportunity to form beneficial links and relationships with like minded companies, facilitating the sharing of ideas, services, and expertise.
Marketing Initiatives: The opportunity to benefit from marketing initiatives developed to represent the sector.
