ReZolve offers training to individuals and businesses. We encourage volunteering at our projects, which gives people a wide range of valuable work experience options including furniture repair, administration, marketing, sales, customer service, warehousing, logistics, driving and electrical repair. These opportunities are open to those who, for whatever reason, have been without a job for some time, to help them gain confidence and work experience; people who have been made redundant and are looking to develop new skills to reenter the job market; under-graduates and graduates to help build their CV and also to retirees who might want to give something back to their local community.
ReZolve is accredited by the National Open College Network which means that our work based volunteering can be offered with accredited and non accredited training. These training courses are organised and sometimes delivered by our own training team: ReZolve Skills, or might be run by one of our partners. We are also Matrix accredited which means that the Information, Advice and Guidance which we deliver is of the highest standard.
We also offer offender management programmes and regularly provide placements for Community Payback teams. At our RE:STORE warehouse we have developed a multi-agency hub providing a base for teams from Devon & Cornwall Probation Trust, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Youth Offending Service, Devon & Cornwall Drug and Alcohol Action Team and Devon & Cornwall Police. The variety of organisations means that we can offer a “one-stop shop” of support and training for offenders and other members of the local community. We think that RE:STORE is a great example of how people can work together and we hope to develop our work in offender management in 2011/12 by working closely with Probation to harness the potential that this Integrated Offender Management Hub offers.
ReZolve provides access to training for local businesses through the Environmental Skills Network(ESN). We are particularly keen to make sure that businesses within the Environmental Goods and Services Sector are fully supported and able to make their business strong enough to tackle the tough economic challenges that are being thrown at them. Through European Social Fund monies we have been able to give these businesses access to skills and qualifications as diverse as health and safety, customer service or practical courses like forklift driving; whatever they have needed to make their business great and futureproof!
It is our intention to combine the training that we do with individuals with our work with businesses. In 2011/12 we will be introducing a Green Apprenticeship which will encourage people, who might not have considered a “green” career, to get experience with a company in the environmental sector. With support and training we think that we will be able to provide the environmental sector with skilled and knowledgeable employees and provide learners with new opportunities which haven’t previously been available to them.
ReZolve has already developed into a leading organisation in the County for promoting and co-ordinating the provision of Green Skills and in recognition of this we are now co-ordinating a partnership of providers under the banner of the National Skills Academy Hub for Environmental Technologies.
On top of all this ReZolve, through ESN, provides environmental training to businesses, from any sector, from entry level qualifications right up to degree level through the Strengthening the Environment Sector project which is run in partnership with Cornwall College. Through this we can ensure that businesses are able to address and lower their environmental impact.
We do also provide training in our areas of expertise including furniture reuse and Real Nappy promotion. Teams from these projects have provided training to other organisations and individuals across the country, learning from our experience in these areas.
